Hey everyone, my name's Seth. I've been riding for the past 4 years. I have a 2003 Yamaha YZF600R and a 2009 250R that I bought for my gf to lern how to ride.

How is the riding season over there up north?

If you have good gear the riding season CAN be about 9 months out of the year. I just winterized my 600R 3 weeks ago. The 250 has been put away for a couple months because the gf thought it was too cold to ride.

3 month vacations are not as bad. The problem is that no gear can make up for the loss of traction with ice or snow, but 9 months is still pretty good.

i bet folks in phoenix can ride almost 12 months a year

Pretty much. There's only a couple of rainy days, and the cold doesn't get nearly as bad as most other places. A good sweatshirt underneath the jacket, a balaclava and good gloves is all that's really needed. Of course, there's some people with heated gear, but that's mostly when going to some other places in the state and beyond.
