Header swap

Hi,I have a 2007 ex250r and I was wondering if an exhaust header swap is possible by using a 2008 single side header.I am trying to use a single exhaust instead of 2.It should bolt on with no problems...right?.Thanks

Short answer is no. The exhaust ports and headers are two different sizes (27 mm vs. 24 mm)and the header flanges are arranged different as well.

Area P used to make single exhaust systems for the pregens. There may be a few out there somewhere. http://areapnolimits.com/products/Sl...Ninja-1988.php

yeah, it would take some welding to do it yourself. You could try looking up a head and seeing if you can find a header for a Muzzy exhaust for a 88-07 250. That will still take a little fabrication of the belly pan fairing since it's a little too big to fit the fairing on as-is without the header melting the plastic of the fairing.

After you get that header, it might be easier to try and get a stock 08-12 exhaust to fit on the Muzzy header. (Muzzy exhausts run about $400-$500).

No matter what you do, changing from the stock to a 2-in-1 exhaust system will require a re-jet.
