Shimming Advice.

I just installed a HMF exhaust K&N Filter and Removed the snorkel. I am getting ready to do my Shims before i ride again. I see a lot of different advice on this as to the number of shims to use. Some say just use 2 and others have told me to use 4 per needle. With the above mods does anyone have any advice?

It's kind of hard to see from the picture, but is that the over flow hose that goes to the ground?
