1st Gear Rattle / weird idle

Hello All,

This is my first time to 250r.net

I have had my 07 ninja since october and havent had this problem since last month, could find any exact matches.

Only in first gear, and fast acceleration the clutch area sounds like a bolt or loose peice of metal is rattling around. As soon as I shift the sound is gone.
Changed the oil 1000 miles ago, and I adjusted and lubed the chain two weeks ago.

Now the second issue is my bike idles really funny sometimes, and it only seems to be consistant when I break hard. The bike idles anywhere from 1500 to 1100, but sometimes it creeps to 2000 or more. to settle it i hold the front break and get into the friction zone with the clutch until it settles. sometimes that works and it wont do it for the rest of the ride, sometimes to keep it from creeping i need to stay in the friction zone until i began forward motion again.

Figured i would ask before i started digging.

There are some interesting things about the carb, such as make shift cold air intakes, and a odd tube which has a screw all the way set(as a plug), that looks to be jb welded to the left side of the carb.

Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere and your carb is probably the likely culprit, especially since it's JB welded.
