Lightbulb Removal of Lowering Links

i just bought a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R that is basically brand new, but the previous owner installed lowering links (back only) because they were quite shorter than i am. I have the OEM Rod-ties to replace the links but i am new to this and cannot figure out the best way to take off the links and put the stocks back on. I feel like if i dont have any support the back of the bike will just drop onto the rear tire. If anyone has any experience with installing/removing lowering links please respond or email me with some information i'd appreciate it
