What is wrong?

Bought a 2009 ninja with 1200 miles. Guy had it tuned and oil changed in fall, but did not ride it. Stored in garage. I had to take it home with choke on.

Replaced the battery so it starts, but dies when you give it throttle. Unless you let it warm up, then you can rev the throttle. If you lower the choke it revs weird, up and down. Give throttle and it dies. Put it in gear let go clutch, give throttle it dies.

I think I have a paperweight. Can't afford taking to the dealer. I put new fuel and seafoam in it. Still could not get it going down the street besides the night it was brought home with the choke on.

I second the carb cleaning. Happens when bikes sit for a while, even just a month or two.

if it sat for a long time with at least 1/3 tank of gas, then you may have some stale gas in there. You'll want to empty out whatever's in the tank into a bucket and dispose of it as necessary. Then when you refill it with gas, put some fuel treatment in there. First, I'd go with fuel treatment that cleans fuel injectors and other such things before you go with the kind that's suppose to improve mpg. Most people in here like StarTron Fuel Treatment. I haven't tried it, but from what I've heard it's pretty good

Obviously, the primary problem is most likely your carbs. The bike should run better after a good cleaning.
