Tadster is right. Also, when you install your new one, attach the end at your wheel first, as you will have to spin the split shaft to get it to seat right, and tighten it. If the 2008 is similar to the previous model, then the top end is much easier to install if you have the front fairing off. Be sure that you tighten both ends with pliers, as this will help keep that guy from falling off again. These things seem to fall off all the time. I would guess because the person was so anxious to get the bike running properly again that they don't take extra minute to tighten them properly.
