Engine noise/rpm issue

hi everyone,

I own a used 2010 250r with 22k miles on it. Im the 3rd owner and it it fantastic. I am having a concern however. Ive had the bike for about a year and it seems to run great. Ive done 2 oil changes and cleaned the trap (no metal in it at all). My issue is at 8k rpm the bike makes an odd noise coming from the left side. Its very hard to describe and only happens right around 8k rpm. It sounds (and not all that loud) like someone crinkling a pop can. The rpms also do not hold steady at 8k, they fluctuate slightly while making the noise. The rpms hold dead steady everywhere else and the noise is also not there unless right around that rpm mark.

Any ideas what it could be. Im baffled. The bike operates normally but this is bothering me.

Is it 8k rpm in all gears?
At all speeds?
If so I'd check the chain and/or sprockets.

Chain is new and sprockets are not sharp nor hooked. Yes is is 8k in any gear but only when moving. It does not do this when in neutral and just revving the engine. Im bout to take it to the shop if i cant get it sorted. Any gear and any speed. Changing gear or speed does not make the sound louder either.

Double check your chain adjustment, also have you lubricated the chain recently? Should be done often, some say every 500 miles or so.

I'm not your mom and I'm not paying for your parts, so do whatever you want with your own bike.
