Fairing bolts replacement

Bought a beat up 2000 ninja 250r I'm rebuilding. Was missing lower and all the bolts. Upper and lower. Was looking up fairing bolts kits but not trying to put a lot of money in it. I got Fastenal, home depot, and other hardware stores close. Can I use bolts from them, or does ninja's have special size bolts. Have been looking on line but can't find bolt sizes or how many. I found one article it says 6x20mm,6x25,6x18. I don't know much about metric at all. When looking up bolts. It would say something like 6m-1.5x6x25.Does anyone know the sizes and how many ? Or where I can buy bolts cheap. .25-.55 sounds better then$2-$3 each.

You can use some bolts from your local hardware store, but many will be too long. And your search will not be a one- stop- shop. Some of the rubber and nylon washers you may need are hard to find. However, that's not to say you can't make them work.

You may want to consider a Complete Fairing Fastener Kit.
Kit is 98 pieces. Kit Includes Fasteners for:
  • Front Fender
  • Windscreen
  • Main Fairing (upper/mid/lower, right/left, v-panel, as required per model)
  • Tail Section (right/left, as required per model)
Check these Parts drawings to find out what parts you need exactly.

Fastenal would probably have whatever you need. I went to a local bolt/screw shop because one of my fairing bolts was shredded. Showed them one of the good ones and they have me an exact match.
