knocking in neutral

The 04 I just got has a light nocking when idling in neutral, when I pull the clutch lever it stops, does this sound like I need to adjust the clutch. The lever seems adjusted proper I have 1/4" -3/8" freeplay at lever The clutch doesn't slip ( it did great burnout in first and second on the concrete) this bike has 6045 miles on it. any thoughts welcome. Im new to the ninja.

Mine does that too. I think all of them knock a little bit, and all of them are a little clunky through the gears also. Still amazing little machines. I've loved every minute of the 3 years I've had mine.

No problem. It may not be a bad idea to do a thorough tune up since you just bought. You seem like an experienced bike guy so maybe you've done it already.

Charged it up then it did start with out choke and it was 22deg, somthings not right with. have to pull the carbs and clean them up

May want to get into the valves too, you just never know. Always better safe than sorry, of course.

It's good practice to do that every 6,000 miles or every valve adjustment. Pretty easy and can avoid a lot of issues later.
