any long term ninja 250 owners?

Im really considering upgrading to this bike from my xt225. Most of the riding i do is around town and country roads not much freeway. I think it would be a perfect bike and i know there is stuff i could learn off it. My main question is is there anyone who has actually wanted to keep this bike? Most people ive seen buy it and sell it the next year or before that i was wondering if its really that quick to learn the stuff and then get bored. I am not bored of my xt i just want something with lower street rpms and something i can rev higher and go on the highway if i had to. I dont see how you can get bored of the bike it seems alot faster than my xt and i even enjoy that.

Ive had mine for two years now. I love it, i actually downgraded to a 250, just becuase there so light and flickable. There a blast to ride. Im not out there to win races, im out there to ride. If doing alot of highway driving, consider going with a bigger counter shaft sprocket to drop rpm's a little. I put a factory pro jet kit into mine, dyno tuned, and a K&N filter (R-0990) it opened it up quite a bit. Theres guys out there that take these on cross country trips.

I've had mine 2 and 1/2 years. I've taken it on a few 10 hour trips. The only mod I've done kn terms of performance is upgrading the front sprocket to a 15 tooth. And iridium spark plugs. My plan is to keep the 250 until it no longer runs, even if I get do get a bigger bike.

That's awesome both of you howver I'm curious what uve downgraded from and the only problem is ill probably have this bike which ever I get for another 2 years cause my parents aren't a fan of me buying and selling all the time. Ive considered an f4i since they're close to the same price however ninja 250 insurance will run $200 for me and the f4i would be about $370 and not to mention how much better the ninja would be on fuel.

My first bike was a Ninja 500, than I wanted to try a cruiser. I traded in for a Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. Had it for a year, missed my ninja, sold the shadow and bought a 250. Lol.
I really like the f4i. Comfortable bike. Hondas run forever.

oh okay that's pretty nice and I'm leaning more toward the ninja 250 I wouldn't have to take it over 65mph unless to pass on freeways how does the 250r handle at 65?

I wondered the same when I bought it. Being such a small light bike you would think you'd get blown around on the highway from trucks and stuff, it actually handles quiet nice. Had a gell pad put in the seat and getting bar risers to make it more comfortable for long trips.

well thanks once I sell my xt I'm prob gonna go for a lime green one xD. It seems like it'll do just fine for what I'm gonna need it for. I am curious if there's anyone who bought one new in like 2008 and still has it id be curious so seem if they still find it as fun as they did when they first got it.
