Wing mirror help

I'm new to this so please excuse my ignorance.

I've just bought my sixth bike being the Ninja 250r AND IT IS AWESOME!!

I've noticed a couple of things that are a bit unusual and need some advice.

Firstly, when looking in the mirrors, i notice that I can mainly see my elbows. On other bikes I have owned, I can clearly see what is behind me but with this bike, I've actually got to move my head to see in them. Is this usual for this bike?

Secondly, I parked up last night after taking it home and noticed a high pitch whistle. Kinda sounded like a faulty alarm. However, the noise came from the fuel cap. I opened it and a rush of air/gas came out. I closed it again and in about 30 seconds, it started again. Lasting about 60 seconds a time, dying down and then starting up again. Just wanted again to know if this is usual?

Apart from that, one of the best machines I have owned.

With some fine tuning you should be able to gain a good view.
The whistle is common.

I've noticed the same thing with the mirrors as well, if I'm not tucked in, I mostly see my elbows, but with a bit of lean forward/back I can see behind/sides pretty well.

Also the beeping is most likely the fuel pressure sound from the gas tank. I searched the same thing, it has to do with the heat on the bike/tank and the lack of pressure escape. I've read nothing that suggests its harmful for the bike.
