Hello all, total newbie here!

Hey guys!

I am a bit of an outlier I think, in that I have not yet taken the MSF or received my M class license, and yet I bought my very first bike this past Saturday. She is a real beauty, 2010 Ninja 250R Special Edition, and I really can't wait to be able to take her out. My question is what sorts of things do you all recommend for a new rider to do to help along the learning process?
The MSF course is a no brainer, and I'll be signing up for that as soon as they start up here in the spring, and I have both a heavy leather jacket and a Snell/DOT rated helmet. I plan on buying some textile pants, riding boots and gloves soon.
What am I overlooking? any tips to help me learn faster or things to avoid?

Thanks!

All the gear... All the time (ATGATT)

Keep to your ability level... don't try to do too much too soon or you'll end up in some sort of accident and it will ruin your whole experience.

Pay attention to what they teach you at MSF and practice all of the techniques over and over again in a controlled environment... i.e. empty parking lot.

Keep to those few things and you should be just fine... enjoy!!!

Practice, Practice, Practice.

Everyday you go out is a new experiance, youll learn something new about your bike everyday your on it.....

Im a newbie too, and before the MSF course in January I had only been a passenger for 3 yrs, that was my very first time sitting on a bike as a rider.....

Good Luck, stay safe.....and ENJOY!!!!
