hopefully a new 250 rider here

Hey guys, just finished my class and started the process in getting an 07 kawasaki ninja 250 and would like some feedback from some of the seasoned riders on here about your guys experience on your 250s?

I agree, it's the best thing ever in the world, until you get used to it. Then it just feels like its lacking in power. But my 09 still puts a big smile on my face

Rino put it accurately. I love my moto but it does lack umph now. At first it was a rocket. Kinda.

All in all, it is a wonderful moto to own and start on.

if you feel like you're lacking power, then shift later. Lately I've been shifting much, much later than the previous "comfort zone" of 7-8k rpm's. Take it up to 10 and 11, and it's awesome. lol. Still might lack some power, but that's not really a complaint.

Even when I ride it to peak power, fair enough it's nippy, but compare it to a 600, or even a 250 2stroker, it's just lacking. I probably come across as if I don't like it, I love it 100%, it's a great bike, it'd just be good to be able to go fast enough to guarantee death in a crash rather than being a cripple lmao

I have a 2007 ninja 250 as well. My first bike. It's great here in NYC for city riding and great on gas. I don't need much power in the city but that said I have taken it up through Massachusetts and to bear mountain in Pennsylvania and I have had no problem keeping up, even with a guy who rides a 600 Versys... I do only weigh 110 pounds though. It's a great bike I hope you bought it!

Agreed. It's an awesome bike for traveling, but you need to be up to date with all the service to have zero problems. Not too hard to do though

Don't think many members of this forum have taken their 250's on trips. The farthest I've gone is a 16 hour round-trip ride.

Tadster on your previous statement... I've always shifted at around 10-10.5 so I guess that's why I quickly noticed the lack in power mid way through 4th
