Removing pin stripes from Limited edition. Less appealing for resale?

Hello,

I just bought a 2012 250R limited Edition. Love the bike in general, however not a fan of the yellow pin stripe stickers, and am considering removing them.

I have been told to keep them as evidence that they were not removed because of laying the bike down, and to show that they were removed for aesthetic purposes, and not to cover up damage. I was also told that removing them could make the bike less appealing to potential future buyers because they are exclusive to the Limited Edition.

I am now considering keeping them, but really would rather not.

Any thoughts?

I'll decide when I get it home and have ridden it a few times. Maybe it will grow on me.

I'm not a fan of the stripes either but I say make me work the special edition is the differences for some people by about $500. But it is your bike.

Yeah, it is the value I am concerned about. Since the stripes are specific to the Limited Edition, if I am remove them, I am afraid that it becomes "just another 250".

well, how soon are you planning on selling it? Because in 2+ years, it probably won't make a difference when you try to sell it.

I wouldn't think I would sell it before 2 years. Since I'm new to riding, I would think that I will keep it until I am extremely comfortable on it, and Ready to get 'more' bike.

I wouldn't worry about it then in 2 years the special edition will more than likely run the same as the regular. Like the 2010's are now.
