Red face Dropped my bike yesterday. . .

Hey everyone,

I've been riding for about four months as of yesterday. I back out of my garage at home everyday without any issues. Yesterday I was out with some friends at South Mountain and I decided to take some photos of the TV antennas up there. I pulled off the road up a paved road. After I took my photos, I began to back down the hill.

For some unknown reason, I decided to put my bike into 1st gear and turn left to drive down the hill. While attempting to do that, I lost my balance and down she went. I was so pissed. Luckily, though, nothing major was done. I'm very lucky there; the only real damage was the left hand mirror was cracked. I'm currently looking for a replacement mirror online as well as locally.

I wanted to post this for any newbies in here in hopes that'll stay in the back of your mind. If you need to go down a road that has an incline, continue backing down it leaving your feet on the ground for support.

Be safe out there.

Wait, are you implying that for going downhill you shouldn't be in first gear? 0_0
