Go to a shop and try one on, if it fits well and feels good then get it online. Make sure when you try it on you wear it for a minute or two. Making sure there are no pressure points and it is comfy.

I had just posted this in the 600rr.net forums and so I'll repost here.

"You have to go to a store and really try on the helmet first before you give it the go of actually buying the helmet. Everyone has different head shapes and so for you, you need to go try it on before you make the purchase.

Personally from my own experience, I have a Scorpion EXO-500 and absolutely love it. However, it doesn't fit perfectly with the shape of my head as an Arai Vector 2 will. I've tried on AGV, Arai, Shoei, HJC, and Scorpion and out of those choices the Arai is the one that sits on my head perfectly while having my glasses on. Should have saved the money for an Arai, but I made the call for Scorpion and will most likely save up for an Arai later on.

For a budget and a great helmet, I'd definitely choose the Scorpion. That'd be my opinion though.

Go to a your local shop and definitely ask the employees there to help you fit into your helmet.

Good luck!"

To answer your question, are you sure about the Qwest? Although it is a good deal, you're going to really want to check out the helmets at a local shop. You might want to look at the RF-1100 since it is a more sportier version.

Good deal: YES. Good helmet: YES. Good helmet for you: ????

I agree with Cracker7 100%. The only way to know if a helmet is any good for you is to go try one on at a local motorcycle gear shop. Whether you have a "round" or an "oval" head will greatly determine what brand and which model will be a good fit for you.

Once you find a helmet that fits well you also want to check the craftsmanship of the helmet. Sure, you could buy a cheap Bilt helmet for about $50, but when compared to a Shoei or Arai helmet you could easily tell that the Bilt would feel cheap and "plastic-y" in comparison.

Anyways, if the Qwest fits, wear it . I own a Shoei RF-1100 and I love the fit, and the intake and exhaust options. I would have bought it online and possibly saved a bit of money, but I was in a bit of a time crunch when I bought my bike so I ended up shelling out $410+tax in a gear shop.

edit: I basically said the same thing pvn23 said, just thought I'd thrown in my 2 cents since I own the helmet he referred to.
