New 250 Rider, RPM question

Hello, I am a new rider of the 250 as I bought a 2009 for my girlfriend who is just going through the learning process. I have owned a suzuki cruiser before but never a sport bike.

My question is, what rpm's do you notice when you're cruising a long at 70mph/110kmh? I noticed mine was up near 7000 and wondered if that was normal, just seemed a bit high. Pretty sure I was in top gear but haven't had a chance to count since being on the highway but I couldn't shift up anymore so I assume I was in 6th. Have any of these bikes had issues shifting into 6th?

Sounds about right. Rev limiter is at 13k and this bike is most comfortable cruising between 6k-9k. When my speedo reads 140, I'm at about 11k RPM

I have 2008 250r, and highway speed (60 ~ 70 MPH) is about between 6k ~ 8k RPM or so and higher.

I have a 98 but have geared it up +1/-2 or 15T front/43 rear. With this combination mine is [email protected]

The Ninjette is comfortable at high rpms, that's where it lives, the power band is about 8~12k

So don't be afraid to rev it, it like it, needs it, also don't worry about doing it for long periods of time, I've rode for 13hrs straight on the interstate, no worries.

A.T.G.A.T.T so I may ride another day.

I'm not your mom and I'm not paying for your parts, so do whatever you want with your own bike.
