Just Bought a 250r, has problems.

Hey guys! I just bought an 09 250. And it seems to be having some issues. I took it to a mechanic and was told that the front forks were leaking fluid onto the front brake rotor. I was also told that some thing is wrong with the clutch, because I had just bought and had them install a new clutch cable in, yet they already had to adjust it as far as the screws can go to make it usable. I was just wondering how much would it be to fix/replace the forks and clutch, if it was a worst case situation/scenario. Best regards.

I had a local mechanic replace one of my fork seals for about $75. He owed me though so I think he did me a favor (which is why I took it to him in the first place). I think for the forks, you're looking at about $200 for the total job, if you take it to a s bike shop, possibly a bit more with them buying the seals and oil. If you take it to a dealer you're probably looking at $300.

As far as the clutch goes, just depends on what the actual issue is. Sounds like you may have just replaced it with a cable that wasn't the right fit.

The clutch cable was replaced with an OEM cable ordered from a local kawasaki dealer. So I don't think that's the issue I'm thinking its a clutch plate or something in the housing that's messed up
