Howdy. Just bought a 2008 Ninja 250R with just over 2,000 miles.
Well, I've been wanting a motorcylce for a couple months now after getting an urge to get out in the warm weather in something other than my BRZ. The only previous experience I have is my old KX125 about 9 years ago...so not a lot of experience.
Figured with my size (6' 1" and 150lbs slim), a 250R would be a good first learners step, and I was able to pay cash on it so no payment! I'm signed up to take the MSF in early June, but got my permit yesterday and plan to practice in parking lots/etc until then. Can't wait!
First wreck story below...
Last night, I went for a short ride and apparently forgot to turn...went into the grass off a curve and landed on the left side. The side fairing is cracked, and the step holder piece (PN# 35063-0385-18r) split in half, but I have another one ordered and I only sustained a strained wrist and small bruise on my knee. I won't be doing that again!
Bought this bike as a learner bike, so I'm not too bummed. Just glad I got my stripes in the grass with a helmet and gear, lol.
Looking forward to participating in the community! I'll be right back out there this weekend practicing some more.
