New owner with no idle : (

Hello all. I have read many posts re: no idle conditions and high idles at 3-4k, and many replies as to what "may" be the problems. But nobody seems to post any results. I have had carbs off twice, clean the living crap out of them, tried diff idle jet settings...... still no results. I can choke it down to a 1or 2k idle by putting my fingers in the airbox intake and the darned thing will stay there, sometimes for a while, sometimes for as long as I want, until I touch the throttle, then back to 3-4k. The dealers and others say a lean condition exists (which I can NOT find), but why does it stay down? then go back up. never comes down on its own. Signed, Baffled.

What are you working with? Old used Ninja? New used Ninja?

Any carb/exhaust modifications?
Last valve adjustment?
Have you checked for leaks?
What's you idle rpm speed?
