Ninja 250 won't start

Soo my 2009 ninja 250 has been sitting awhile. I decided to take it out for a ride. I charged the battery, checked the voltage, everything is good with the battery. The neutral light will NOT come on when i turn the key. The ignition will NOT start the bike. I changed out the main fuse, still no luck. the lights in the dash are very dim. when I try my turn signals, they seem to work, but won't click.

Most likely the battery is NOT ok. You need to test the voltage with the key and lights on, and also when you hit the starter button. If the voltage in any of the above cases drops below 10.5 volts or so then the battery is shot.

The dash lights being dim and the turn signals not flashing are the main clues that the battery is bad.

My old FZ 750 used to kill the battery annually. The battery will read good under no load, but as soon as any load was applied the voltage would drop to 2.4 or so. The cause was the battery's internal plate to plate connections cracking.

I have come to terms with the possibility of dying while riding, life has a 100% death rate. I would rather live having fun and end up dead in a motorcycle crash than never do anything fun because it's dangerous and I might get killed. No one makes it out alive anyway. - From a friend on another forum, used with his permission.
