Weird noise when decelerating!?!!?

I've got an 08 250r with about 8k on it. I've noticed lately that when decelerating there is this metal on metal noise (not brake related)... From my riding position it sounds like its coming from the front end, but who knows it might be from the engine. When I pull in the clutch it stops completely. It's not a constant noise it's is like "screech screech screech screech" but as I said it almost sounds like there is a metal ring loose or something is vibrating and them stops when the bike is at idle (or when clutch is in).

I don't know where to start looking as I can only hear it when decelleratig. It may be me, but I've also noticed it possibly (much quieter) when speeding up but that may be me just being over cautious.

HELP!

Thanks guys.

If it helps, I ride it on the hwy quote often at speeds of 80 or so, I've got a 150r and 120f tire setup as well as a 2 bros slip on.

Thanks

sounds to me like either: your valves are tight and you need a valve adjustment

or: maybe your drive chain just needs to be lubed or replaced depending on the wear and tear it's been through.

Hmmmm. Thanks, I'll try living the chain and see if that helps first.

no problem. I would also go ahead and start learning about valve adjustments if you plan on doing all the maintenance yourself.

You may also think about getting a thorough inspection by a good mechanic. He'll be able to tell you right away what the problem is.
