Highway Riding

I ride primarily on the interstate back and forth to work daily. Probably about 20 miles. With the rpms constantly roun 9-11, which is helping the fuel efficiency much. Does anyone have any recommendations that might make the bike better at speed 70-80 mph.

You can change out the sprockets. Get a bigger front sprocket and a smaller rear sprocket and that will decrease the RPM's which will make it a much smoother ride on the highway

A 15 tooth front and a 43 tooth rear sprocket offers the best balance of acceleration and top speed provided you are maxing out rpms in every gear. Your rpm speed will decrease about 750 rpm in any given gear, but you will see an increase in top speed.

stock gearing 14/45 @ 9400 rpm, 6th gear = 76.3 mph
custom gearing 15/43 @ 9400 rpm, 6th gear = 85.5 mph

See the attached graphs for rpm, sprocket, gear & mph for different combos
14/45, 15/45 & 15/43

Easiest thing to do is just a larger rear sprocket. Takes about 20 minutes to swap out.

Next time you need a new tire, you could use a slightly bigger one.

took much less time for me to do the front. I'd assume both can be changed very quickly. The rear tire comes off so easily and if you know what you're doing with the adjustment and chain tension, it should be so easy

You can Google search for Tires available for the 2008 & up Ninja 250R or New gen tire options
Also Google search Review: Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 140/70-17 & 120/70-17
