Repainting my bike, what type of paint should i use?

I just took off all of the fairings and I sanded them down, finishing with P600 grit. It is super smooth if I may say so myself lol. I know I have to prime it first, then color, then clear coat. My question is can I use spray paint or do I need a special type of paint?

depends what kind of finish you want. If you want a matte finish, then you could probably just use spray paint. If you want it to last then use some automotive paint and a clear coat

Spray Paint would be cheaper right? My friend did his bike with spray paint and it came out gloss green. He used 2 coats of primer, 4 coats of glossy green, and 2 clear coats

The trick is getting a paint that is gas resistant. Otherwise if you dont, any droplets of gas will eat right through your paint. I found that rustoleum engine enamel is gas and oil resistant. That's what I decided to use. They also have one that is clear. Im going to try that also as my clear coat. Hopefully it holds up

paint it a stock color then plasti dip it the color that you would like, this will give you 2 things, 1. stock paint for resale, 2. protection for the paint by the plasti dip, 3. temporary paint (plasti dip) so you can change colors of your bike whenever you feel like it for etremely cheap! like 20 bucks.

just make sure you plasti dip after the paint is FULLY cured so it doest take off paint when you want to peel it off. good luck!
