Question New rider. Couple questions '08 250

Hello every one,

I checked back a few pages on this forum and didn't find my answers. maybe I didn't go back far enough? I'm sure the answers are somewhere in the forum, this just seemed to be a bit quicker possibly.

I have checked this and a couple other forums and have done some google searchs about gas for the bike. I have a '08 250 with 3,054 miles I got this last Friday for 2500. The manual states to use 87 oct in the bike and I have heard other people throwing in the 92 oct and is basicly just tossing money out the pipe. any advice. Also, I have a few "Clean" fuel stations around me so that is my ultimate goal once I decide the oct to use.

I have a K&N air filter as well as K&N oil filter. I have the Iridium spark plugs and just got mobile 1 Syn 10-40w. I am waiting for my muffler to get in before I change everything, getting a danmoto JISU exhaust. What, if any, performance increase or decline should I be expecting after swapping the filters, plugs and pipe out?

When you change to a higher flow intake and a higher flow exhaust you should be re-jetting your carb to keep everything in balance. I always try to use good gas from a reputable station. I add small amounts of carb cleaner to my gas. I use 87 octane.

You're welcome, your probably looking at a Dynojet stage 2 kit. If you research their web site, dial in your bike and open the pdf tag it mostly spells it out. You should take a look! It makes suggestions for the jetting based on your mods. If your not able to do this yourself? I would recommend your preferred shop to do it? Probably 2-3 hours labor + parts.
