2000 Kawasaki EX250-F

Hello, my name is Anthony Franco. I just acquired my first motorcycle and want to service it and figured I would join a forum. I am quite handy with automobiles, but I know the motorcycle service world is a different ball park. I have a few questions. (By the way the odometer reads 3,400.)

First off I want to complete an oil change, but not sure how to access anything nor know what is the proper amount/type. (I feel silly.)

Second off the previous owner noted that the carburetor needs to be cleaned on the account that to stay idling the choke has to be on, even when warm.

Third off, I'd like to flush all the fluids and not sure the routine. Where can I locate the specs, and/or if anyone knows of them?

Fourth, what are considered 'good' brake pads?
- My girlfriend and I ride together and I would prefer not to kill us, so I want to make sure brake fade is out of the equation.

Thank you very much, any information is much appreciated.

Having a owner's manual is a good place to start with basic operation and maintenance of your bike. There's also tons in DIY threads and videos available.

Online owner's manual
