Flushmounted rear Turn Signals- Has anyone done them like this?

Hey, new user to the forum here,

I've got a 2004 Ninja, and I'd like to flush mount my turn signals, and I noticed two small panels next to the taillight. So, curiosity got the better of me and I opened them up, and discovered these sockets.

So I figured, why not stick my turn signals in there? the only problem is that the PO painted over the plastic cover with black paint.

Has anyone ever tried this before on this model of bike? (ZZ-R250) and if so, is there a tut?

I'm sure it's been done many times. I haven't been part of a zzr250 forum. The Canadian 250's are quite a bit different cosmetically than the American 250's (of course, both models are made in Japan).

However, the 250's in the US also have spare pods like that and a lot of people have put their turn signals in there. There are also a few places that sell the orange plastic for the pods. You may want to look into that. The mod definitely cleans up the rear and makes the bike look a little sportier
