New to street

Just purchased my first street bike.
It's a 2007 ninja with 2894 miles on it.
Looking for mods I can DIY. Any advice would be appreciated.

What are you looking to gain with mods? Better gas mileage? Performance?

As a new rider I'd advise to focus on gear, maintenance and technique.

Hey thinks guys and I'm not lookin for performance mods just cosmetic right now I have ordered a flush mount blinker kit and also removed the flames from it. Now just wanting to remove the fender and integrate the blinkers into the tail light assembly. Is this a good option or no?

I wouldn't recommend moving the blinkers into the pods because it doesn't pass the national standards for the legal distance between two turn signals. Although, most people that have done that mod haven't gotten pulled over.

I would recommend adding extra brake lights into the pods instead of relocating the turn signals. It adds more visibility for others drivers to see you and it'll obviously make your brake light brighter because there are three lights flashing instead of one.

Also, chop the fender with a jigsaw, that way you still have underseat protection for your blinker/tail light wiring.

I like the blinkers in the extra pods personally, that's how my 250 is and it passed inspection fine but then again each state may be different I'm currently living in Delaware.

it also depends on where you get it inspected. Some car garages have motorcycle inspection service, but have no idea what they're doing.

yup. There's an exxon station here that has u-haul rentals, has a garage, and does inspection for all types of vehicles.

When I watched them inspect my bike, I could tell they had no idea what they were doing. My bike shouldn't have past because, at the time, my front tire's tread was pretty much gone
