Adding oil after the first 300 miles?

Should I be concerned that I've had to add oil to my 09 ninja after only 300 miles? I've been doing my best to stick with the break in, 4k rpms but, I have pushed it as high as 6k on a couple of occassions. I was getting ready to go ride the other day when I just happened to check the sight glass and noticed that the oil level was below the lower line. I don't see any oil leaks so Im wondering if this is normal for brand new engines. Thanks.

It might be fine. I suggest an oil change if concerned.

Was the bike leveled when you checked the oil? Leaning on the side stand will make it look like it's low on oil, but you need to check while the bike is perpendicular to the ground (assuming it's on a leveled, plain surface).
