White smoke from exhaust

I ha a couple concerns about my 2005 ninja 250. I was doing some general maintenance on it yesterday and was letting it run to warm up and I notice it was shooting out white puffs out of the exhaust and it was about 40-50 degrees yesterday so I'm just wondering if I have anything to worry about with that. I'd say it was running for about 10-15 minutes before I shut it off. Could I be the air filter? I don't think it's been changed in a while but I'm not sure since I just bought the bike a bit back. I also was wondering about a hole that is on the side of a cylinder of the engine. I can see inside the hole, I'm curious if something is suppose to be covering that or not? Also after it wa running for that 10-15 mins it would be idling funny and stall if I tilted it or sounds like it was close to stalling. Thanks for reading this and hope someone can help a new rider! Thanks

White smoke can mean a few different things. It is common to see white exhaust fumes when it is cold. This is just condensation and will eventually go away as the engine and ambient temps warm up.
If the bike has excessive white smoke, it could mean
Piston oil ring worn
Cylinder worn
Valve oil seal damaged
Valve guide worn
Engine oil level too high

The holes on the side of the engine are drain holes for the spark plugs. It is to allow water to drain from around the spark plug should water get in there past the plug boots.

After the bike is warmed, make sure you idle speed is set to 1300 -1400 rpms

See the Owner's Manual

Yah I feel it may be from just cooler weather outside and me just over worrying about it. I put my hand in the white smoke and smelt it and it wasn't weir smelling it just smelt like gas. I'm gonna clean the air filter and change spark plugs to see what they look like as well and see how she runs after that. Thanks
