Converting pound feet to pound inches

Some of the torque values in the service manual for my 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R are listed in inch-feet format. So did a quick search on the Net and found this site, http://www.convertunits.com/from/lb-ft/to/pound+inches, to help me convert one to the other.

Usually one doesn't need to convert ft lbs to inch lbs. as they are normally meant for different applications... Torque values measured in inch lbs are going to be lighter or more sensitive components such as bearing caps or carburetors... These torque values will require more precise torque measurement then the rating of most ft. lb. torque wrenches... Although there some level of overlap in the wrenches available such as a 50-150 ft lb wrench will probably handle a higher inch lb torque value but not the lower units of value...

1000 inch lbs = 83.3333... ft lbs...

A 50-150 ft. lb. torque wrench should be able to handle this suficiently..

Come and play.. Come and play...
Forget about the movement...!

lb-ft x 12 in/ft = lb-in

oh, and I'll speak from experience. Don't use an el cheapo 1/2" drive, $20 torque wrench from the auto parts store to tighten something to anything less than 20 Ft. lbs. They are in accurate, and if they're off more than say 10 ft-lb you'll twist the bolt off long before it'll click.
