Air filter - Oil removal?

When i soak my air filter in motor oil, how much of it should i be removing?

i wrang it all out, felt almost as if it was dry, but also oily to the touch. I took paper towels on both sides and pressed down until i barely anything comes out on the towels.. Before re installing i quickly sprayed it ( very very lightly ) , with oil on both ends and re installed.

Is that okay? Or should i be installing with a heaver coat ?

you did it perfectly as far as it sounds. You're supposed to soak it in oil and get as much out as you possibly can. Sounds like you did that. You should just be able to wring it all out and then press on it from the middle and somewhat massage the rest out towards the edges
