Where on the Island? I have some family in Merrick. Granted, I live accross the Hudson and just started riding this week so that trip may be a few months off haha.

Hey, there IS life here! (on this forum)

I'm near Stony Brook, Suffolk County

Merrick is Nassau

If you're ever interested in riding way out east (Montauk Point) lemme know in advance

I just joined the forum this morning so I'm looking for signs of life too. Once I get out to the island I would love to take a ride out East, anything a little more fun than the LIE to get out that way?

For you, look up Ocean Parkway...it'll get you part way out...at a certain point, gotta superslab it to get out there quickly. Once you get out past Riverhead, certain backroads become available. Further out within the townships of Southampton and Easthampton, backroads are quite nice.

It is possible to get very close to Montauk via beautiful backroads, completely avoiding major highways.

Sure, join me if you get out here. Just PM in advance.

Use VFR800 or Ducati 900SS...depending on mood.

Centereach here, ride out east for work. In construction so I mostly work Southampton to Montauk. I know most of the back roads also.
Your right about Montauk, there is no way around the neapauge strait.
