New 250 ninja

Hey guys name is jarred, my first bike was an 82 v45 magna still have it. Just recently picked up an 08 Kawasaki ninja 250r love it so far such a blast. Now you must understand I bought a 250 on purpose because I tend to ride the bike to and from work 30 miles round trip and just along country roads. However I do a lot of highway driving. My question is, get this right I didn't buy a 600 on purpose I have a 750 if I want power ill hop on it, how can I squeeze a little more out of it. I'm 155lbs and it will do about 100 or 105downhill my question is how could I squeeze a little more power so I have a little more umph between 50 and 85mph and top about 115 any suggestions would be appreciated. Again I know this is not a power house bike just would be helpful to have a tiny tad but more acceleration

Like Gabe said, changing the sprockets would help. A bigger front and smaller rear will decrease power in the lower gears, but increase the top speed. If you want to increase hp then you could always do performance mods like pod filters and an aftermarket exhaust system.

If it hasn't been jetted, jet it. The dynojet kit comes with 4 different jets for different setups. Even a stock setup (filter, exhaust) is improved with his kit.

I weigh 135 and I tried out a 15/42 setup and the bike had a hard time going past 10,000-11,000... Pretty much couldn't pull. I'm currently using 15/44 and will top out ~107mph. It will pull thru the final gear, slowly...

Thank you tadster00 will be getting that. Az my bike will easily pull me to redline maybe I should check to see if any thing has been changed does anyone know the stock sprocket dimensions? How hard is it to reject these yourself? I'm new to sport bikes but not bikes in general as I did a motor rebuild on the magna. Here is a pic of my newly acquired bike. That's not me tho lol

Stock sprocket setup is 14/45. Jetting it not hard. Getting the carbs out can be a little tricky tho. Instructions are easy to follow and install is easy. Make sure to check the carb sync..
