First post here... I already did a quick search and came up with no results.
Been riding for about 3 months now on my 2009 ninja 250R and started learning the basics of how to knee drag while turning.
I was just working on positioning on the bike and getting comfortable with how that felt, not actually trying to get my knee to touch the ground. I was practicing in a HUGE open college parking lot.
All was well until I'm quite sure I tried to lean to much with not enough speed and dropped my bike for the first time going about 25mph. Light scratches on the left side fairing, mirror and clutch and left handlebar bar end. The only thing that really took damage was the left fairing body slider.
It actually broke completely off when I went to touch it and move it. It ripped right off the frame of the bike. I watched a couple videos and noticed thats what happened in 100% of them that I saw. So i'm guessing this is typical, so my question is how to repair this?
Starting next year (2014) i'm going to the track to begin racing class and start to race in the 250cc class. But I really want to repair my bike correctly from the get go.
So how do people typically go about repairing this type of damage to a body slider? Is it worth even putting them back on if I'm going to be racing next season?
If this is completely off topic for this section of the forum please forgive me, I chose what I thought was appropriate.
