Instrument Cluster

I just got a 2001 ninja 250 and have noticed theyre isnt a fuel gauge on the instrument cluster....this bothers me.

Could I get a newer model 2008+ instrument cluster and put it on there?
Ive also seen gas gauges that also replace my gas cap?

I was told the newer Gauge wouldn't work on a older ninja.
I wouldn't expect a aftermarket fuel gauge to work considering the original bike doesn't have one.
I wish it would! It would be nice to have a fuel gauge and gear indicator.

No, I don't need it but it couldn't hurt to have! There have been times I wasn't sure what gear I was in.

there isn't a fuel gauge and an aftermarket one will not work. It has to do with a floating device inside the tank and connected to the gauge.

You do have a trip meter though. I usually set the trip on every fill up and fill up when it's at 150 miles, when in the city. When on a trip, I fill up around 200.

One tank should easily go 300 miles, but I just like to keep it safe rather than risk running out of gas
