Mgp growler

Installed the mgp Growler on my 2012. Its sounds awesome. Its loud but not obnoxious and its the best sounding exhaust out there. I took it out and I noticed that when I slowly reved it there was a spot were it seemed to b flat and wasn't as loud. Is this cause I haven't shimmed yet?

Well I shimmed with 2 washers and it made a huge difference. No stutter or flat spot. I'm a noob at any mechanic work and it only took 3 hours. Mainly because it took an hour trying not to strip the screws in the Carb covers.

So when changing the exhaust or intake, can shimming get the job done?

i bought my bike and the previous owner had one these on it sounds good when you get on it but i dont like the sound of it when your just riding at a constant speed makes the bike show how far up in the rmps it rides. looks alot better than the stock but was looking for some ideas of a better one to still have a good sound but not sound like a dirt bike
.
