I just got mine today and didn't want a shorter shock. I removed the clevis from the 250 shock, shortened the sides of the 600 shock's clevis, tapped it into place(fit perfect into 600 clevis), then arc welded them together and it fit nicely. The shock is an '89 but when I checked the oil it was a nice clear green-good to go! It would seem most sport bikes that end up in bone yards are low mileage. The ZX10R one I just added to my SV650 was clean to although an '04/5 shock. I got a picture of how much was cut off the 600 shock but then my camera's battery died so can't show finished result. New springs and gold valves will be here soon but I'll try out the shock after I get cleaned up.
