Thumbs up GAMMATRONIX led battery charge / standby indicator

Here is a simple, inexpensive, and must have piece of modifications, I have done.

The company is named GAMMATRONIX( http://www.gammatronixltd.com/ ) they make some really interesting items from charging, storage, temperature, in various styles.

The one I chose was the 12V LED MOTORCYCLE / BIKE Battery level and Charge monitor( http://gammatronixltd.com/epages/bae...cts/BIKE-E-12V )

It's an easy installation as far as wiring goes, two wires, positive & negative. Where you install it is totally up to you.

I installed mine in the tachometer meter face, to give it a factory look. Installation was easy, but had to be careful due to I had the drill the hole in the face. I routed the wiring out the back thru an unused block off hole in the rear.

The unit works perfectly as described, I like the fact that at a quick glance I can tell what's going on, unlike a digital readout, which requires more time than a glance.

Another neat feature is when the bike is off, and parked it automatically detects it and switches to battery monitor mode, and it looks like there is an alarm on the bike.

I have been in touch with the owner Steve, he has informed me that they are making a version that automatically adjusts brightness for just a few dollars more.

Here is the email he sent me:

If you want to pass the word on to other forums that would be great. If anyone mentions their order is from a forum, we can offer a 15% discount until the end of 2014. Refunded back via paypal after purchase.

The auto brightness unit would come in at around 4 more than the standard unit, at 18.98.

We dont have stock at the moment as we are not actively promoting it, but if you want to buy one or two or three and can wait a couple weeks after placing we could take your order.

The unit has 16 levels of brightness from quite dim up to full brightness, set automatically by the device sensing ambient light. I think its most useful in sunny places, to help sunlight visibility, so clearly not much of an issue for bikers here in the UK!

best regards

steve

I'm not your mom and I'm not paying for your parts, so do whatever you want with your own bike.
