I've seen petite people lower 250's using a lowering link. It obviously effect suspension, but makes it easier to touch the ground for smaller people. But IMO, it's not worth messing with the suspension to do it. Just practice balancing on the bike when at stops lights, etc

if you're talking about doing it for a cosmetic look such as lowering and stretching....big time NO on that one

Thread revival here because I'm researching the center stand spring - I'm going to put the center stand back on and the spring is no longer with. The best price I can find online is only $9 shipped, but does anyone know if a hardware store spring would work? I hate waiting for parts.

Posting here because the 250 I got came with the lowering links and a shaved seat. The center stand was removed due to clearance, OEM links put back on when bike sold to me.

In summation: 1) looking for alternative to waiting two weeks for one dinky spring, 2) instead of lowering, try a shaved seat?
