Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums!
I just recently obtained my very own first motorcycle, a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. I bought it for $2400 with a mileage of ~1770 mi. So stoked to ride it soon enough, but first I need to prep this motorcycle because I know the previous owner didn't have a clue of how to maintain it properly (she didn't even know the motorcycle had a carburetor). So I plan on doing the following before I begin riding it because I want the best performance when I first start to ride it.
Here are a list of things I plan to do:
1. Clean/lube the chain.
2. Valve adjustment (btw what are the valve specifications for a 2008 Ninja 250R?).
3. Remove the carbs, clean them, and sync them back up.
... That's what I could think of for now. Since I will be doing this for my first time, I was wondering if anyone out there had tips for a rookie like me?
In addition, is there anything that's really important to motorcycle maintenance? Anything unnceessary?
Thanks all in advance!
