Stupidest thing you've done while riding....

This is no lie...

On my old FZ750, after working at a practice on Saturday and a race on Sunday (motocross) I was heading home southbound HWY 99 and fell asleep on my FZ doing 75mph....for about 4 miles!! (It was the stretch right before Chowchilla, where there are about 12 cross streets (country roads) and the gravel runoff at the left-hander across from the CHP inspection station on the NB side.)

Luckily I woke up right before that runoff...I pulled over to the side of the road, got off the bike, jumped around a few times and yelled at the bike (for letting me fall asleep). I got back on, rode the remaining 20 miles to my apt and fell asleep again from the complex' gate to my garage.

The following weekend I had a dozen mx riders threatening to take my bike keys by force and taking me home with one of them so I wouldn't kill myself trying to ride tired.

Related stupid thing: Taking my FZ 750 onto the motocross track at Hollister Hills after a race day. "Fuzzy" was pissed off at me for a week after that little stunt. (Several riders dared me to do it, and after 10 guys put up $20 each I did.)

I have a few others but they are NSFW.

I have come to terms with the possibility of dying while riding, life has a 100% death rate. I would rather live having fun and end up dead in a motorcycle crash than never do anything fun because it's dangerous and I might get killed. No one makes it out alive anyway. - From a friend on another forum, used with his permission.

Indeed. Now share a story or two.
