How much are you paying for insurance?

I'm paying about $180 a year for full coverage with State Farm.

Maybe I need to look at switching insurance companies... I've had GEICO for at least the last 7 years and thought I was doing okay with about $30/mo... but that means I pay a little over $300 and thats definitely more then either of you?!?! Time to do some bargain shopping...

State Farm goes by CC number, and not the type of bike. I think that's why they're cheaper.

That makes sense... I thought GEICO did too... but maybe I should ask them.

Progressive seems to be good to me. I pay 85 a year on the '09 250, another 122 on my Road Star. Adding my 17 year old daughter to the ninja was a another 65(w/MSF discount). I have everything but collision...
Good insurance is like a fire extinguisher-you buy it cuz you're intelligent! You hope you'll never need it. But when you do, it will save your house and everything you own...and maybe your family as well.

I am a new rider, but am thirty-seven and have never had any accidents or tickets. When I began shopping around for insurance, these were the quotes I was getting (for liability and full coverage, minus uninsured motorist):

GEICO: $2000/year

All State: $1200/year

State Farm: $500/year

Dairyland: $450/year

Progressive: $280/year

You can bet Flo got by business.

Liability coverage only on my 12' 250R is about $12/mo. I added my 14' 636 and both bikes with liability came out to roughly $45/mo.

My insurance is with USAA but they go thru Progressive for motorcycle coverage.
