Will my Ninja hold up?

How much weight will the 250 hold and perform normally? I just had a baby and in the process i gained 30 or so pounds of sympathy weight bringing me up to 235ish. last season i was 200 so my question is this- will i notice any significant decrease in acceleration or performance?

Umm....depends. 375 is that max load weight. With weight over 300 you will see a difference in handling. Even if you have a modified/upgraded suspension (front and rear), and bigger tires, extra weight will always reduce acceleration and top end speed a little (depending on how well tuned the bike is). Adding a passenger will also change the geometry of the bike and center of gravity.

I weigh about 230 fully loaded and the bike handles and accelerates just fine.

LOL well I am currently at 189 myself (5'9" tall) and would love to lose 20-30 myself.

It never hurts to be as light as possible when rockin the 250.. the bike will like you a lot better.

I have come to terms with the possibility of dying while riding, life has a 100% death rate. I would rather live having fun and end up dead in a motorcycle crash than never do anything fun because it's dangerous and I might get killed. No one makes it out alive anyway. - From a friend on another forum, used with his permission.
