In the past, when I've traveled on my bike, I've just stapped down my backpack to the tank, and used a bunjee net to secure a small duffle bag to the rear
The past couple weeks, I found some sweet deals on some cheap luggage. The quality is still unknown in terms of longevity, but it looks good to me. I bought a big tank bag for $20 and a tail bag with "saddelebags" for $30.
It definitely looks nicer than my previous setup. We'll see how much the tail bag can actually hold, but it's gonna be great for shorter trips. My backpack is definitely replaced by the tank bag though. The tank bag is much bigger than I expected it to be.
The brand of the tank bag is Sidewind. I don't think they've been in business for a couple years now and that's the reason for the low price. Came from some kind of motorcycle store and retails for "$99.99" though the price tag on the box is "$59.99"
The tailbag was made by some Chinese company.
I can provide eBay links to both upon request. Not sure I'd buy the tail bag again, but the tank bag is perfect.
