Washing my 2005 ninja 250

So I recently bought a 2005 ninja 250 and I'm curious on the ways to wash it. First off I wanna know if formula 409 all purpose cleaner is good to use on the bike. I heard its great for everything but the windshield. And when I am soaping the bike up with a sponge/towel is it okay to just go everywhere with the water? I want to get every part of this bike clean. Do I need to remove the seat or can I wash it with it on and can I take the seat off and suds up the frame. Watching out for the battery of course. I'm just curious of what to use how to do it to be most effective. Thanks a lot for reading and replies!

I never wash either of my bikes. I use Armor Wipes or a great spray in a black and pink can I buy at my local dealer. (Can't remember the name of it right now, sorry) JMO

Completely harmless to wash your bike. I usually wash it, degrease the chain (if necessary), and regrease.
