Noise

I have been waiting to post because I wanted to listen to my bike a bit more. I have a noise that sounds like something is loose and vibrating. It is hard to explain, but it is at the front of the bike. It is a little louder when you are on the throttle. Sorry if this sounds crazy and stupid, but I am new to the bike world and just seeing if there is any ideas. Should I take it in immediately or can I keep riding it. I will try and check it out more tonight but I have no idea what I am looking for. My front brake makes a little bit of noise when I use it to.

Rattling noise is hard to track, but I heard that the cables (clutch and brakes) can vibrate bad enough to make noticeable noise at speed.

If you have a friend who knows a lot about motorcycle and is someone you trust allow them to ride it and see if you're just hearing things. (no offense meant)
I heard the same rattling noise at a track day and it turned out that I was just hearing things I guess. Like Vtech said it's probably just the cables rattling.

Does it sound like something external such as a loose bracket, clamp, washer, etc.. Or something a bit deeper and heavier sounding...

250's are well known for their valve clatter... It's a clicking kind of sound that is in sync with the engine RPM's... As engine speed increases the pace of the clatter increases... It doesn't really get louder.. It's eventually enveloped into the over all engine noise as rpm's increase.. The clatter is most noticeable at idle and some have it worse then others...

Come and play.. Come and play...
Forget about the movement...!

That is what I thought maybe at first that "I was just hearing things" but it has gotten a little louder. That is why I waited to post. I am so anal sometimes that I create my own problems. Malaqui has seem to hit the mark with his comment and what I hear, the valve clatter.

Get a bigger bike.

If you feel like you've outgrown your 250, you've probably outgrown your helmet too.
