I haven't used one. I've looked into getting one that locks onto the brake disk(at least it looks like it does). Makes the bike unrideable because the lock would hit the fork.

Still seemed like the bike is steal-able if someone had enough time to take the whole wheel off and take off the brake disc.. but that would take a thief who knows what he's doing.

Anyway, that's probably what I would get because it's cheap and seems like it would keep people from taking it.

Yeah I've seen those...I think the most popular brand is the xena locks...I was just looking to get a chain with rubber hosing to tie it down at home and maybe a xena lock or two lol for when I go places

Anyone have any personal experience with the Xena alarm/ disc locks? They look solid and seem loud, BUT I need a real world perspective. Moving soon and my new place doesn't have a garage.
