Getting the front wheel up

I wanted to start learning how to wheelie and whatnot and I thought that it was a lost cause on my ninjette but after a little nutting up, I got it up. 1st gear cruising at about 4k rpm. Squeeze the clutch and rev to about redline and completely drop the clutch and up she came wooh. By the way I don't do this in the street because that is not safe. Empty parking lots are great. If there is anyone out there with any tips on keeping it up for any length of time please tell me. Thanks

it's much easier to get and keep it up when you've got your feet on the passenger pegs.

Never tried doing anything of this, just saying from what I've read and seen.

I tried to wrap the bike and from sitting, it's impossible. So it won't tip backwards on you. It kicks a little bit it's when you bring it back down is the hard part have to make sure your wheel is straight or you'll dump it. I was out and just kinda thought to myself, I betcha I could wheelie. So I found a parking lot and started trying. I'm probably only getting about 2 ft off the ground now but gotta keep practicing.
